BEYOND OUR WALLS

The resources we actually recommend.

Therapy is only one part of the work. A lot of it happens between sessions — and the right resource can carry some of that load.

Here you'll find writing from our clinicians, alongside outside programs, tools, and practices we genuinely recommend. Nothing here is filler, and nothing external is ours.

COACHING PRACTICE

Know ADHD

Why we recommend it: for clients who have the diagnosis and need help with daily execution rather than more insight. Operates outside clinical therapy — pair it, don't substitute it.

GOVERNMENT PROGRAM

Ontario Drug Benefit & Trillium

Why we recommend it: the clearest path to finding out whether your ADHD medication is covered, and what to do if it isn't. Administrative, not clinical.

GOVERNMENT PROGRAM

Disability Tax Credit & RDSP

Why we recommend it: most adults with an ADHD diagnosis don't know they may qualify. Worth reading before you pay someone to file it for you.

PROGRAM DIRECTORY

Manufacturer patient support programs

Why we recommend it: several ADHD medications have co-pay assistance that goes unclaimed simply because nobody mentions it at the pharmacy.

GUIDE

Workplace accommodations under the Human Rights Code

Why we recommend it: explains what your employer is actually obliged to do, so a request can be specific instead of apologetic.

GUIDE

IEP and school accommodation process

Why we recommend it: parents arrive at the school meeting far better off knowing the process and the vocabulary in advance.

ADVOCACY ORGANIZATION

CADDAC

Why we recommend it: Canadian ADHD advocacy with reliable, non-commercial information and a genuine community behind it.

WEBSITE

Neurodivergent Insights

Why we recommend it: clinician-written, and strong on the ADHD/autism diagnostic nuance that gets flattened everywhere else.

FREE PROGRAM

MySleepWell

Why we recommend it: evidence-based, Canadian, and not selling anything. Useful when sleep is quietly driving the executive function problems.

Resources Beyond Our Ownclinic
A note from the clinic

Why we share resources beyond our own clinic

Most therapy clinics keep their resources in-house. We don't. Good support involves more than therapy — it often includes coaching, peer community, executive function tools, sleep work, medication management, funding programs, and ongoing learning. We can't be the source of all of it.

So we maintain a directory of things we actually trust and that our clients have found useful. If something on this list helps you, we're glad. If you eventually want someone clinical to walk through it with you — that's what we're here for.

When you're ready for personalized support

Helpful resources. Personalized support.

If you've explored what's here and you'd like to talk to someone — about ADHD, BPD, autism, trauma, addiction, or any of the work we specialize in — we're here when you're ready.

Everything in “Recommended elsewhere is created and operated by people outside So You Need Therapy. We include a resource because we've used it, referred to it, or vetted it through professional networks we trust — not because of any commercial arrangement. We receive no payment, commission, or referral fee from anything in this directory, and inclusion is not an endorsement of every view expressed by its authors. None of this is medical advice, and none of it replaces working with a regulated health professional.
